Job summary

Broadcom is seeking an ICB5 Staff Engineer for the Network Detection and Research Team (NDRT) to advance AI-enabled threat detection capabilities in a high-security data center environment. You will conduct deep-dive research into emerging network threats and help design proactive, scalable detection solutions.

The role requires 12+ years of experience (or 10+ with a Master’s, 7+ with a PhD), strong Python skills, and familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud-native settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 12+ years of related experience, or Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 7+ years.
• Experience in network security and IDS/IDPS signatures development.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with AI tools used for threat detection.

Responsibilities

• Conduct deep-dive research into emerging network threats to keep IDPS ahead of adversaries.
• Architect and build AI-enabled security solutions for protecting virtual workloads in large-scale data centers.
• Analyze malicious traffic to design robust detection logic and high-performance signatures.
• Develop scalable data collection infrastructures with automated feedback for threat evaluation and response.
• Translate threat intelligence into actionable detection logic and signatures.
