Job summary

Vox Media is seeking a Network & Systems Engineer to own our enterprise network end‑to‑end, including Juniper infrastructure, Cato Networks SASE, and SD‑WAN across offices and data centers. This in‑office role in NYC requires hands‑on expertise and cross‑functional collaboration with IT and production teams.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in network engineering, Juniper/Junos proficiency, and certifications (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP, CCNA/CCNP).

Qualifications

• Must have 6+ years of professional experience in network and infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on production experience with Juniper networking technologies and Junos.
• Cisco/Meraki experience and the ability to evaluate platforms on technical merit.

Responsibilities

• Own networking end-to-end for Vox Media's enterprise network across offices, data centers, cloud environments, and remote connectivity.
• Serve as the senior technical resource for Juniper networking, including config, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Administer Cato Networks SASE platform, including SD-WAN connectivity, secure remote access, and security policy.
• Define future network architecture and evaluate migrations to Cisco/Meraki.
• Design and support LAN, WAN, wireless, and internet connectivity across multiple locations.
• Configure VLANs, routing, ACLs, NAT, DHCP, DNS; manage BGP/OSPF as applicable.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2/3 issues with packet capture and root-cause analysis.
• Plan network upgrades and office infrastructure projects with minimal disruption.
• Manage vendor relationships and capacity planning; support server/cloud infrastructure (AWS/VMware/Windows/Linux).
• Participate in on-call rotation for incidents and perform cross-domain RCA.
• Develop repeatable automation with scripting or IaC to reduce manual work.
