Job summary

Texas Pipe And Supply Company is seeking an Experienced Network Engineer to support, troubleshoot, and optimize data networks across multiple locations in Houston. The role focuses on SD-WAN, VPN, LAN/WAN, cloud networking, and security best practices.

You will design remote site deployments, monitor performance, and guide vendors while maintaining Windows DNS/DHCP health. Strong communication and multitasking are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or related field is required.
• JNCIP-ENT – Juniper Certified Professional – Enterprise Routing and Switching (preferred).
• Minimum 6 years of related work experience.
• Certifications such as JNCIP-ENT, Cisco CCNP are considered.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform support, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring for data networks at all locations.

• Support cloud/virtual networking to scale cloud systems.
• Troubleshoot DNS and DHCP as a secondary resource for Windows infrastructure.

Job Location: Houston, TX 77051

Essential Duties

• Perform support, troubleshooting, performance monitoring/tuning for the data networks at all locations. This includes SD-WAN, WAN, LAN, VPN, VxLan, Wi-Fi networks
• Design and manage the installation/improvement of remote locations to organizational standards
• Provide recommendations for network improvements, optimization, and deployment plans.
• Perform implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network components to ensure maximum up time and optimal refresh intervals.
• Assist in telecommunication vendor management and serve as a point of contact for network failures.
• Implement network security best practices and work with security team to minimize vulnerabilities.
• Provide network documentation, training, and team guidance.
• Provide a strong background in cloud/virtual networking and able to optimize network configuration to allow cloud systems to scale.
• Serve as a secondary resource for the Windows infrastructure. This includes the ability to troubleshoot DNS and DHCP

Technical Skills

• Network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP

• A working knowledge of SD-WAN remote access technologies. Specific Cato Network experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Additional certification preferred and will be a consideration to cover both the experience and degree requirement. Applicable Certifications include, but not limited to:

• Must be self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skill set.
