Job summary

Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Office of Enterprise Technology is seeking a Computer Network and Systems Specialist to lead senior-level network engineering for the LTSSMaryland system, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing operations.

The role oversees software releases, Change Control Board activities, and architectures across data centers, virtual infrastructure, file transfer APIs, and HIPAA-compliant EDI exchanges, with hybrid telework options.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software.
• Bachelor's degree substitutions available to meet experience requirements.
• Experience with HIPAA-compliant data exchange and enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain network architecture solutions for availability and scalability.
• Monitor performance, availability, and operational metrics.
• Review changes via CCB to ensure alignment with standards.
• Support software releases, updates, deployment planning, and impact assessments.
• Provide oversight for data centers, virtual infrastructure, file transfer APIs and gateways.
• Support security, disaster recovery, and compliance activities.
• Maintain network documentation, runbooks, batch schedules, and automation.
• Coordinate with teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Develop reports and analyses for leadership decisions.
• Perform other duties to support LTSSMaryland stability.
