Job summary

BuildLACCD is seeking a Programmer/Analyst III to lead network administration across the PMO and nine campus sites, handling servers, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and disaster recovery.

The role requires deep Windows Server skills, AD/Entra ID, SharePoint, Office 365, and automation via PowerShell, with responsibilities in uptime, security, and incident response.

You will work with a team of network engineers to design topologies, document SOPs, and support IT services for executives and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of applicable systems and network administration experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field; additional four years experience may substitute for education.
• Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Windows servers, AD, DNS/DHCP, and Internet protocols.
• Experience with VPN appliances and Cisco Meraki; security awareness.
• VMware/Hyper-V, PowerShell, and automation experience.
• Familiarity with CrowdStrike, Nessus, Splunk.
• Experience with SharePoint/Office 365 and Entra ID.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Configures, manages and provides networking support for physical and virtual environments.
• Testing, installation, configuration and maintenance of operating systems and network devices.
• Ensure system uptime and effective communication with IT teams.
• Oversees administration of network servers to ensure availability of services.
• Installs and configures client and server network software and upgrades.
• Monitors network and system issues and takes corrective action.
• Manages projects to deliver services per objectives.
• Configures and supports firewalls, Wi‑Fi APs, switches and other devices.
• Responds to staff inquiries and provides timely support.
• Proactively identifies issues and proposes resolutions.
• Contributes to SOPs and training practices.
• Researches network products, protocols, and standards for procurement.
• Supports installations and maintenance of networks.
• Maintains network security and disaster recovery procedures.
• Performs routing, cabling and switching tasks.
• Designs topologies and enforces compliance.
• Responds during outages and recommends performance improvements.
• Suggests new networking technologies for reliability.
• Collaborates with engineers to meet deadlines.
• Performs root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Security systems development, testing and implementation.
• Threat prevention and vulnerability management.
• Generates executive reports.
