Job summary

The New York City Police Department is seeking a Senior IT Architect (Network Solutions Architect) to design network solutions for cloud and hybrid environments, including WAN/LAN and SD-WAN. The role covers DR/HA planning, architecture diagrams, and Azure AD MFA implementation.

Responsibilities include monitoring tool deployment, cross‑section collaboration, and ensuring standards compliance across the application life cycle. Work location is 1 Police Plaza with NYPD ITSD oversight.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Engineering/Math with six years of related enterprise/network/IT infrastructure experience.
• Alternatively a Bachelor's with ten years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Education and/or experience may be substituted for the above qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect network solutions for cloud and hybrid connectivity (WAN/LAN, SD-WAN).
• Set up Disaster Recovery and High Availability network environments and maintain IT architecture diagrams.
• Develop and install monitoring applications for network equipment and security devices.
• Collaborate across sections and divisions to troubleshoot network issues with application owners.
• Implement authentication, MFA and authorization using Azure AD and related services.
• Plan hardware lifecycle, virtualization, load balancing, capacity and performance tuning; ensure standards compliance.
