Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain network security infrastructure to support mission-critical operations.
• Oversee security infrastructure sustainment, maintenance, and configuration of security tools (Palo Alto firewalls, F5 WAF, Illumio, Proofpoint mail gateways, IDS, AWS, and others).
• Respond promptly to network issues, outages, and change requests.
• Perform system maintenance on network and security hardware/software as needed.
• Use network monitoring tools to proactively address capacity, performance, and availability issues.
• Create and implement automation to improve efficiency, deployment speed, and reduce errors.
• Mentor other engineers on equipment/software.
• Cross-train in-house to share knowledge and workload.

Essential Functions:

• Support day-to-day security solutions (20%).
• Support engineering and system administration of cybersecurity solutions (20%).
• Solve complex problems and answer routine questions about cybersecurity software (15%).
• Identify potential conflicts with cybersecurity solutions (15%).
• Answer routine questions about cybersecurity solutions (10%).
• Analyze system logs for performance and anomalies (10%).
• Collaborate with architects and project managers on security requirements (10%).

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5 years of relevant IT security experience.
• Alternatively, 9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.

Licenses/Certifications:

• CISSP, CISM, CEH, and CISA certifications upon hire are required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Perform risk assessments and investigate cybersecurity incidents (Advanced).
• Understand vulnerabilities at a technical level (Advanced).
• Knowledge of hardware, software, networks, data centers, systems, and cybersecurity issues (Advanced).
• Proficient in ethical hacking techniques.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills (Advanced).
