Job summary

Alter Domus is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise network infrastructure across on‑premises and hybrid cloud environments in Chicago. You will work with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of the network.

Responsibilities include managing data center networking, implementing NSX with micro-segmentation, routing/switching, VPNs, and firewalls, plus on-call rotation when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years in network engineering and data center operations.
• VMware NSX certification is a plus.
• CCNP/CCIE or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise data center network infrastructure.
• Design, implement, and maintain VMware NSX environments including micro-segmentation.
• Configure routing, switching, firewall policies, VPNs, and NAT.
• Monitor performance, availability, and security incidents.
• Coordinate with server, virtualization, cloud, and security teams for changes.
