Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a Data Networking Senior Manager to oversee the enterprise network, including data center core, internet edge, WAN/SD-WAN, campus LAN, and cloud connectivity. You will lead engineering, lifecycle planning, incident response, and governance to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective operations across our multi-site environment.

The role requires deep networking expertise, people leadership, and a track record of managing complex, enterprise-scale networks.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience related to area of assignment.
• Two years of supervisory or management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related.
• Combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience.
• Significant experience leading enterprise network engineering and operations in a large, complex environment.
• Strong working knowledge of enterprise routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, segmentation, high availability, QoS).

Responsibilities

• Own the availability, performance, capacity, reliability, security, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and supportability of the enterprise network.
• Lead day-to-day operations, engineering, lifecycle planning, and continuous improvement with metrics.
• Coach and develop engineering staff; establish accountability and growth.
• Provide governance for network changes, documentation, and standardization.
• Lead major incidents, drive root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage budgets, vendors, and lifecycle programs for the network.
