Job summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a Senior Network Observability Engineer to own visibility into network health, performance, and availability across sites.

You will translate telemetry into actionable insights, design pipelines, dashboards, and alerting, and drive incidents analysis to improve reliability. Key responsibilities include integrating data with IT service management, implementing proactive monitoring, and mentoring the team on interpreting data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Four (4) years of IT experience with infrastructure operations and engineering environments.
• Experience with infrastructure design, systems analysis and security management.
• Hands-on experience with StatSeeker, ThousandEyes, SolarWinds or LogicMonitor.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain observability pipelines across multiple tools.
• Build dashboards and alerts for SLA breaches, capacity trends, and anomalies.
• Correlate telemetry into a single operational picture across network stack.
• Integrate monitoring data into ServiceNow for auto-ticketing and queue visibility.
• Route telemetry events using Azure Event Grid for real-time alerting.
• Develop synthetic monitoring and active testing for key paths and services.
• Lead root cause analysis using historical telemetry and trends.
