Job summary

State of Delaware seeks a Network Manager to oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of its network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. You will lead network engineering staff, manage vendor relationships, and drive strategic planning for growth and modernization.

The ideal candidate demonstrates disciplined resource management, prioritizes workloads, and pushes teams and vendors to meet service goals and timelines while collaborating with IT leadership

Qualifications

• 8+ years in network engineering/administration.
• 5+ years in leadership or supervisory roles.
• Proficient with routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, SD WAN, and load balancers.
• Strong in performance monitoring and vulnerability management.
• Strong vendor and contract management abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Valid professional certifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IT ecosystem: network, systems, and security.
• Create and maintain team schedules; assign daily tasks.
• Hire, onboard and train staff; supervise day-to-day operations.
• Monitor performance; coach/counsel as needed.
• Support ongoing technical training and career development.
• Maintain department knowledge through training/publications.
• Plan and design future network/IT infrastructure.
• Evaluate technology enhancements and upgrades.
• Drive service delivery improvements; allocate staff to projects.
• Develop and audit network security policies.
• Monitor servers, network devices, and endpoint protection.
• Respond to alerts, vulnerabilities, and security events.
• Oversee network changes and office moves.
• Maintain documentation: diagrams, backups, logs.
• Track service tickets; supervise installations and upgrades.
• Oversee desktop imaging and provisioning; coordinate app support.
