Job summary

Curtiss‑Wright Defense Solutions is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer in Portland/Remote to design, build, and maintain full‑stack features for our network‑management platform. You will craft efficient APIs across REST, gRPC, and GraphQL, and shape scalable microservices within Kubernetes, while contributing to automation, security, and documentation.

Qualifications

• BS Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep experience with C#, .NET, and modern design frameworks/tools.
• Familiarity with VMware/Hyper‑V and virtual networking.
• Experience with container orchestration and Helm charts is desirable.
• Experience with web UI design (Blazor/Angular/JS) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain full-stack features for the network-management platform.
• Develop APIs using REST, gRPC, GraphQL, and other interfaces.
• Build and extend microservices running in Kubernetes for scalability and security.
• Create automation scripts for deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to AI-assisted coding workflow and tool evaluations.
• Develop specifications and plans for new designs and architectures.
• Participate in DevSecOps processes and ensure high-quality implementations.
• Produce clear architecture and technical documentation.
