Job summary

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to design, deploy, and operate network management tools for a DHS HSEN environment. You will ensure monitoring and reporting systems run reliably and securely across a large enterprise WAN.

The role requires strong scripting, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams plus the ability to work remote with national scope. A broad security mindset and excellent English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in relevant field; relevant experience may be a substitute for education.
• Broadcom NetOps Suite: Spectrum, CA Performance Management, Net Flow Analyzer (NFA).
• HPNA or similar Enterprise Configuration Management tools.
• NetScout knowledge is a plus.
• Deploying, developing and maintaining servers and applications in a virtual environment.
• 5+ years supporting/maintaining/evolving distributed enterprise NMS.
• 5+ years of operations experience related to NMS for complex networks.
• Experience creating technical documentation for projects.
• ServiceNow experience is a plus.
• Strong tools customization/integration, databases, scripting, and web front-end.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Working knowledge of various networking technologies; IT security awareness.
• Self-starter, resourceful, and able to manage time on projects.
• Able to work evening change windows and provide on-call after hours.
• Able to work independently in fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in English (written and verbal).
• Pre-employment screenings including background check, MVR, drug screen.
• Comply with drug/alcohol policy.
• Authorized to work in the US or start date eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide network management systems expertise for a large enterprise network.
• Develop, enhance, tune and maintain network management tool suite for a WAN with 5,000+ devices.
• Collaborate with customers, operations, and engineering to define tool requirements and maintain them.
• Create technical project documentation detailing current and future architecture and designs.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of system issues.
• Engage with vendors to maximize tool value and plan upgrades.
