Job summary

Hawaiian Telcom in Hawaii seeks an experienced network engineer to support design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure, focusing on Arista, SD-WAN, and security edge technologies.

You will work with senior architects and customers to translate scope into actionable tasks, configure and validate devices, oversee cutovers, and produce thorough implementation documentation for operations teams.

Qualifications

• Four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of network engineering/field installation experience.
• Strong hands-on routing, switching, VLANs, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Arista, SD-WAN/VeloCloud, Cisco, and Palo Alto preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, PMs, and customers to define scope and requirements.
• Configure, install, test, and troubleshoot network equipment with emphasis on Arista, SD-WAN, routing, switching.
• Support field installation activities, site readiness, cutovers, and migrations.
• Document implementation notes, as-built diagrams, and handoff information.
• Provide technical feedback based on experience to project teams and operations.
