Job summary

Hawaiian Telcom in Honolulu seeks a senior network field engineer to consult, architect, design, implement, and support advanced enterprise infrastructure, focusing on routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, and security edge technologies.

Responsibilities include translating requirements into field-ready designs, creating work statements, configuring Arista, SD-WAN, Cisco, and Palo Alto gear, and supervising field installations to ensure services function after cutover.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
10+ years in network engineering/field implementation or related field.
Advanced routing/switching with experience in enterprise networks.

Responsibilities

Consult with customers and internal teams to understand requirements and design field-ready implementations.
Develop network designs, implementation plans, and migration plans.
Configure, stage, deploy, troubleshoot, and validate network equipment (Arista, SD-WAN, Cisco, Palo Alto).
Lead field installation activities, coordinate cutovers and ensure service readiness post-implementation.
Provide feedback to product and operations based on field experience.
