Job summary

Harbor IT seeks a Senior Network Engineer to lead architecture and delivery across diverse client engagements. You will own LAN/WAN design, security, and SD-WAN, with hands-on work on Extreme Networks and Fortinet platforms. The role emphasizes mentoring, standards development, and client-facing strategy.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in network engineering, strong vendor depth, and outstanding communication to translate technical risk into business terms. Travel infrequently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field is required or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of network engineering and architecture experience, with senior roles.
• Hands-on Extreme Networks and Fortinet experience required.
• Strong ability to translate requirements into architecture designs and docs.
• Experience coordinating multi-resource deployments in MSP/consulting settings.

Responsibilities

• Own network architecture and design across campus LAN, WAN, and security deployments.
• Serve as technical lead on complex network implementations and guide engineers.
• Lead pre-sales solution design, including BOMs and technical proposals.
• Design, configure, deploy, validate Extreme Networks and Fortinet solutions.
• Develop and maintain architecture standards, templates, and baselines.
• Conduct assessments and produce remediation roadmaps with business language.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with account teams and PMs.
