Job summary

Harbor IT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to own architecture and delivery for LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and security. You will lead complex network implementations, mentor engineers, and engage clients as a trusted advisor on infrastructure strategy.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Extreme Networks and Fortinet platforms, strong vendor depth, and proven client-facing communication skills in an MSP environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of network engineering and architecture experience.
• At least 3 years in a senior architecture or lead engineer role.
• Hands-on Extreme Networks experience required; certification preferred.
• Hands-on Fortinet experience required; NSE4 minimum, NSE7+ preferred.
• Experience translating business requirements into network designs and client-ready docs.
• MSP/consulting delivery background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own network architecture and design for campus LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and security deployments.
• Provide hands-on engineering and lead field resources through deployments.
• Lead pre-sales solution design with discovery, docs, BOMs, and technical proposals.
• Design and validate Extreme Networks and Fortinet solutions as primary platforms.
• Develop and maintain networking standards, templates, and baselines.
• Conduct network assessments and create remediation roadmaps; translate risk to business terms.
• Collaborate with solutions architects and account managers on scope and risk.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through projects and reviews.
• Maintain knowledge of vendor ecosystems and roadmap directions.
• Represent Harbor IT in client-facing architecture reviews and strategy discussions.
