Job summary

CGS is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for a large-scale project involving wired and wireless infrastructure, security patches, vulnerability testing, and comprehensive documentation. You will interface with state and local government personnel, stakeholders, and vendors to implement and test the new setup.

The role requires CWNA/BCNE or equivalent certifications, strong networking knowledge (OSPF, VLANs, 802.1x, RADIUS), and hands-on experience with RF site surveys and Linux/VMware

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong documentation skills and experience with JIRA, Wiki Pages, and network diagrams.
• CWNA and BCNE certifications or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools and network security concepts.
• Linux, Windows Server, VMware knowledge; disaster recovery and vulnerability testing.
• Familiarity with Agile/SCUM project management.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve monitoring and reporting with network management software.
• Develop, maintain and deliver network infrastructure documentation.
• Review best practices for architecture, design, and operation.
• Onboard and monitor Cloudpath or equivalent wireless infrastructure, patching and updates.
• Assess and optimize the network infrastructure for performance.
• Define testing procedures for new projects and implement solutions.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions within infrastructure projects.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to NPS resources.
