Job summary

CGS is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a team focused on evaluating, enhancing, and maintaining a large scale network project in North Carolina. You will design and implement a wireless and wired network infrastructure, and consult on hardware/software needs, testing, vulnerability assessments, and QA for successful deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is required.
• Master’s Degree is preferred.
• CWNA Certification or equivalent is required.
• BCNE Certification or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting capabilities with network management software.
• Develop, maintain and deliver infrastructure documentation for the NPS network.
• Review current best practices and provide architectural recommendations.
• Administer Cloudpath onboarding, monitor wireless health, apply security patches, and perform updates 0800–1700 PST, Mon-Fri.
• Assess the network and propose improvements and optimizations.
• Define and conduct testing for new infrastructure projects.
• Implement technology solutions within NPS network environment.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions for NPS projects.
• Provide informal training and knowledge transfer to NPS resources.
