Job summary

CGS seeks an experienced Senior Lead Network Engineer to evaluate, enhance, and maintain a large‑scale network project encompassing wired, wireless, and software infrastructure. The engineer will interface with state and local governmental personnel, internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, CWNA/BCNE, and experience with Ekahau and Wireshark. The role involves designing, testing, and securing the network, with responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
• Strong documentation skills including updating JIRA, wiki pages, and network diagrams.
• Ability to communicate with end users, cross‑organizational staff, and help desk.
• CWNA certification or equivalent.
• BCNE certification or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools like Ekahau, RF scanners, and Wireshark.
• Knowledge of layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing (VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP).
• Knowledge of network security (802.1x, MAC authentication, ACLs, RADIUS, CA).
• Experience troubleshooting RF and LAN issues.
• Linux, Windows Server 2013, VMware knowledge.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years on disaster recovery and security testing.
• Experience with penetration testing and cyber threat analysis.
• Experience with Agile/SCUM project management.
• Additional industry certifications/licenses.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, enhance, and maintain a large‑scale network project (wired, wireless, software).
• Design and implement integrated network infrastructure.
• Consult on hardware and software needs and perform system testing and vulnerability assessments.
• Interface with government personnel, stakeholders, SMEs, and vendors.
• Define testing procedures for new infrastructure projects and provide design guidance.
• Provide informal training and knowledge transfer on network best practices.
