Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools in Colorado is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to deliver comprehensive WAN/LAN support and training. You will serve as the district’s primary resource for technical and security issues across networks.

You will provide guidance to IS administration, support the network operation team, and assist district WAN/LAN users as needed. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience with LANs, WLANs and WANs including TCP/IP, VOIP, and wiring; 3 years with firewalls.
• CCNA or Network+ certification or equivalent.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.
• Advanced knowledge of computers and cell phones.
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
• Frequent intra-district travel.

Responsibilities

• Install and manage local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) daily.
• Install, configure, and maintain firewalls, switches, and routers for WAN.
• Analyze and resolve issues related to utilization, security, and performance.
• Manage network installation projects; supervise contractors; coordinate with districts.
• Test and maintain district VPNs and network management tools.
• Establish district-wide networking standards and concepts.
• Evaluate new networking solutions for district standards.
• Monitor network usage and performance; recommend enhancements.
• Perform forensic security investigations as required.
• Attend district construction meetings and provide design input.
