Job summary

Akima Global Technology (AGT) seeks a Senior Network Engineer in San Antonio, TX to lead design, implementation, and support of terrestrial connectivity including inside plant components. You will design WAN circuits, partner with cross-functional teams, and maintain documentation and performance metrics.

The role requires 10+ years of experience in network engineering, a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• Experience leading design, implementation, and support of terrestrial network connectivity.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, and network infrastructure best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, planning, and implementation of terrestrial network connectivity solutions, including inside plant components.
• Design, provision, and manage WAN circuits to support commercial internet access and organizational connectivity needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions into enterprise environments.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, configuration standards, and performance metrics.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and implement solutions to maintain high availability and performance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance network reliability, scalability, and security.
