Job summary

D2 Consulting seeks a Sr. Network Engineer to support an intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and a willingness to take a CI Polygraph. Duties cover data center networking, network security, and project deployment across O&M, design, and integration.

You will collaborate with system engineers and stakeholders to deploy solutions, evaluate new technologies, and maintain robust network operations within established standards.

Qualifications

• 10 years of data center networking experience preferred.
• SME level understanding of dynamic routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.
• Familiarity with EVPN, VXLAN, Cisco vPC, ACI, F5 load balancing and RSTP is a plus.
• Understanding TCP/UDP application flow with external analyzers and built-in diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Support Data Center network, application delivery, and network security environments (O&M, deployment, design).
• Provide tier III SME level support within incident management.
• Work with stakeholders to deploy or enhance IT solutions.
• Coordinate with project staff for solution development and deployment.
• Collaborate with system engineers to meet technical goals and timelines.
• Develop methodologies for LAN/WAN analysis, testing and support.
• Diagnose hardware/software problems and replace defective components.
• Maintain networks and configurations; integrate with performance/availability framework.
• Prepare technical proposals for engineering reviews for new technologies.
• Perform full range of upgrades per network architecture.
• Review upgrade requests and advise on practical technical approaches.
