Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space seeks a Network Engineer to design, build, and sustain the ground-station platform supporting SBIRS and Next-Gen GEO OPIR systems. You will collaborate with software, security, and mission engineers to deliver ultra-reliable, secure, and scalable ground networks enabling continuous infrared surveillance and missile-warning capabilities for current and future satellite constellations.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Network Engineering experience (design, implementation, troubleshooting) in complex networks.
• Deep knowledge of OSI/TCP/IP models and Layer 2/3 technologies (VLAN, OSPF, BGP).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper devices (both preferred).
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs, COMSEC, and/or TACLANEs.
• Active Security+ CE (or equivalent IAT Level II) required or to obtain within 60–90 days.
• Active Secret clearance required prior to start; ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan network communications systems.
• Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Provide detailed information for hardware/software selection and implementation techniques to meet present and future capacity needs.
• Conduct testing of network design.
• Maintain technical expertise in network and computer hardware/software interconnection and interfacing (routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways); evaluate new communications technologies to enhance capabilities.
