Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Colorado is seeking a Network Engineer to design, build, and sustain the ground-station platform supporting SBIRS and Next‑Gen GEO OPIR networks. You will collaborate with software, security, and mission engineers to deliver ultra‑reliable, scalable systems for infrared surveillance and missile‑warning capabilities across satellite constellations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Network Engineering experience in design, implementation, troubleshooting of complex network infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of OSI/TCP/IP models, Layer 2/3 technologies (VLAN, OSPF, BGP), and hands-on with Cisco/Juniper devices.
• Active Security+ CE (or equivalent IAT Level II) required or ability to obtain within 60-90 days.
• Active Secret clearance is required prior to start and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs, COMSEC, and/or TACLANEs

Responsibilities

• Design and plan network communications systems.
• Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Provide information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for efficient solutions, including capacity requirements.
• Conduct testing of network design.
• Maintain technical expertise in network and computer hardware/software interconnection and interfacing; evaluate new technologies to enhance capabilities.
