Job summary

ValidaTek is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team in support of federal civilian and defense agencies. The role emphasizes high availability, security, and performance of complex network infrastructures in a hybrid work setting.

The successful candidate will configure, secure, and optimize enterprise networks, lead troubleshooting efforts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with IT systems and applications.

Qualifications

Active DoD Secret clearance is required at minimum, with ability to obtain Top Secret.
8+ years of network engineering experience, preferably in the Defense sector.
Bachelor's in Science degree in Computer Engineering, CIS, telecommunications, MIS, or 10 years of documented experience.
Proficiency with Cisco and Juniper devices is highly preferred.
Senior knowledge of TCP/IP network design including LAN, WLAN, and SDN networks.
Experience providing design and implementation support for VMware ESX/VSphere virtualization technologies.
Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) environments.

Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise wired and wireless networks (Cisco Catalyst, Meraki, Aruba).
Implement secure network access using Cisco ISE and Aruba ClearPass with 802.1X and guest access.
Manage configurations, monitor performance, and support upgrades with network management platforms.
Serve as senior escalation resource for complex wired and wireless issues; perform RF troubleshooting and site surveys.
Design and implement scalable network infrastructures to meet organizational needs.
Plan, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
