Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Network Engineer to lead evaluation, design, and deployment of a large-scale network spanning wired and wireless infrastructure for government environments.

The role involves collaborating with state/local personnel, vendors, and internal teams to test and implement secure network solutions, maintain docs, and support ongoing operations in a hybrid/remote-capable Los Angeles/San Francisco setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information systems or related discipline (or equivalent).
• Strong documentation skills including updating JIRA, Wiki Pages, and Network Diagrams.
• CWNA Certification or equivalent; BCNE Certification or equivalent.
• Experience with RF site survey tools such as Ekahau and RF Scanners; Wireshark usage.
• Deep knowledge of Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 routing (VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP) and network security (802.1x, RADIUS, ACLs).
• Linux, VMware and Windows Server familiarity; disaster recovery/testing experience.
