Nationwide Children’s Hospital Inc. is seeking a Sr Network Engineer to oversee, design, implement, and maintain data network hardware and software across LAN/WAN, firewall, remote access, VPN, and wireless environments.

The role requires strong project leadership, security policy development, and mentoring of junior staff, with a preference for seven years in LAN/WAN and healthcare experience. This position is based in Columbus, OH with an on-site work model.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in LAN/WAN technologies (preferred).
• 2 years of healthcare environment experience (preferred).
• Technical degree in associated area or equivalent experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, implements, and maintains all network system hardware and software for LAN/WAN, firewall, remote access, VPN, and wireless.
• Leads major data network projects and provides status updates to staff and management.
• Creates security policies for network equipment and implements solutions to manage network security.
• Schedules and prioritizes work activities of Network Engineers and mentors junior staff.
• Designs, collaborates on network management systems, and recommends troubleshooting strategies.
• Coordinates selection and implementation of new hardware and software to enhance operations.
• Ensures documentation of all network systems is complete and accurate.
• Assists with budgeting and cost/benefit analysis for network enhancements.
