Job summary

Torus, based in Salt Lake City, seeks a Senior Network Engineer to own the network architecture underpinning Torus Protect. You will lead VLANs, segmentation, and WAN/LAN topology across the fleet, while driving containerization on IOx and secure mesh VPN design.

You will work with security, hardware, and product teams to ensure compliance, reliability, and field-ready designs for multi-site deployments.

Qualifications

• Active CCIE certification (Enterprise Infrastructure, Security, or equivalent track) required.
• 10+ years of progressive network engineering experience with production, multi-site networks.
• Strong working knowledge of VPN mesh technologies (WireGuard, Tailscale, or similar).
• Experience designing network segmentation for IT/OT with compensating controls.
• Comfortable with Linux-based network appliances and EDR/MDM endpoints.
• Experience with protocol analysis and packet capture tools (tshark/Wireshark).
• Clear technical communicator, able to document decisions for engineering and compliance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own protect's Network Architecture and VLAN/segmentation strategy across sites.
• Advance IOx Containerization and kernel-level EDR compatibility.
• Design and Harden the Tailscale Mesh for reliable site-to-site connectivity.
• Validate redundancy, failover, and VPN tunnel reliability across the fleet.
• Collaborate with security architecture to align network design with compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot fielded networks using packet captures and protocol analysis.
• Document reference architectures and runbooks; mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate with hardware procurement, firmware, security, and product teams.
