Job summary

Torus in Salt Lake City seeks a Principal IT Security Engineer to lead IT security across identity, devices, network and compliance. You will stay hands-on while mentoring others and setting technical direction.

You will own IAM/MDM/AV/Network architecture, drive vulnerability management, and coordinate incident response for IT and OT. This role combines leadership with deep technical work in a fast-growing energy infra company.

Qualifications

• 8+ years proven experience in IT infrastructure or security engineering across multiple domains.
• Hands-on IAM platforms, policies, and processes.
• 8+ years experience in IR and incident handling.
• Strong vulnerability management and network security fundamentals.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with security tooling and automation.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Comfortable with AI-assisted development tools.
• Self-starter who acts without direction.
• Clear communicator able to convey risk and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Torus's core IAM, MDM, AV, & Network architecture.
• Lead EDR strategy and day-to-day operations.
• Mature vulnerability management program.
• Architect secure IT/OT network infrastructure.
• Build automation for security and IT operations.
• Escalation point for incidents and outages.
• Mentor security engineers and raise engineering practices.
• Evaluate new tools, architecture changes, and processes.
