Job summary

ConsultNet is seeking a Network Engineer III to design, secure, and optimize enterprise networks across corporate, remote, and field environments. You will lead advanced network ownership, drive upgrades, and support hybrid cloud and on‑prem connectivity.

Required are 5+ years in network engineering, knowledge of Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet/Palo Alto, and strong documentation. This contract role offers robust security focus and cross-functional collaboration across IT, security, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in network engineering or IT infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT/CS. Certifications preferred.
• Experience with enterprise routing, switching, and security devices.
• Knowledge of BGP/OSPF, VLANs, and network monitoring tools.
• Strong documentation and cross-team communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
• Monitor performance, availability, and resolve complex issues.
• Design upgrades, modernization, and secure remote connectivity.
• Configure firewall policies, VPN controls, and security updates.
• Support vulnerability mitigation and incident response.
• Document configurations, standards, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Automate routine tasks with scripting and tools.
• Collaborate with IT, security, engineering, and operations teams.
• Provide technical leadership during infrastructure improvements.
• Support hybrid cloud and on‑prem networking environments.
