AARP is seeking an Engineer II, Network Services to design, implement, and support enterprise LAN/WAN and wireless networks. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable network solutions and ensure security, high availability, and performance across the organization.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in enterprise networking, experience with NAC and 802.1X, and hands-on work with Cisco Meraki/FortiGate/Aruba ClearPass.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, administering, and troubleshooting enterprise LAN, WAN, and wireless network environments.
• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise wireless networks and firewalls, including wireless access points, routing, VPN connectivity, firewall/security policies, high-availability, upgrades, and performance troubleshooting.
• Experience with Network Access Control (NAC) and authentication technologies such as 802.1X, RADIUS, EAP, certificate-based authentication, and wired/wireless authentication.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, subnetting, NAT, routing, and switching, including hands-on experience with BGP and/or OSPF.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex network connectivity, configuration, and performance issues and support network infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
• Experience with one or more enterprise networking and security technologies, including Cisco Meraki, Fortinet/FortiGate, Aruba ClearPass, F5 BIG-IP, Cisco, and/or Arista.

• Ensures sound integration, data, security, and business architecture design throughout all stages within the platform and/or capability lifecycle.
• Provides rapid delivery and development of technical solutions that align with business and/or platform desired outcomes.
• Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues related to platform or capability systems, solutions, and services.
• Innovates and drives continuous improvements of implementation methodology and technical service offerings based on customer/employee experiences or other enterprise objectives/outcomes.
• Participates in a Community of Interest for engineers across all capability and platform teams to share information and strengthen understanding of business needs and technology-based business solutions.
• Develops and maintains deep technical knowledge and expertise related to domain area systems, solutions, services, and applications.
