Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for the DOT EITSS proposal. The position is in the Washington, DC area and sits in a hybrid work environment.

The role involves designing, implementing, and managing data networks, supervising staff, and ensuring performance against contractual requirements. A Secret clearance is required, with a salary range of USD 94,150 to 150,650 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience in data networks, including design, troubleshooting and management.
• Experience with Cisco, F5, Nexus switches, DHCP, DNS, VPN, MPLS, MTIPS, BGP, routing, switching, cloud infrastructure, and Out-of-Band (OOB) networks and firewall management.
• Clearance required: Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage data services and networks; troubleshoot complex issues.
• Provide daily supervision and direction to support staff, including technical and administrative guidance.
• Coordinate planning, design, and installation of equipment using engineering and programming knowledge.
• Participate in system conceptual design and document design concepts.
• Install new hardware, systems, and software for networks.
• Design, create, and build network services, equipment and devices.
• Develop system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
• Monitor system performance and tune for optimization.
• Review test plans and procedures and ensure contractual objectives are met, and participate in testing.
