Job summary

Cognition AI in San Francisco is seeking a Network Engineer to own the reliability, security, and evolution of our global office networks. You will design, deploy, and operate high-performance wired and wireless networks across campuses, optimize RF, and ensure secure connectivity to cloud and Devin environments.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years building networks in hypergrowth startups, strong TCP/IP and routing knowledge, and a track record of automating network operations using IaC and modern

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and operating enterprise networks.
• Experience in hypergrowth startups with high ownership.
• Bachelor’s in CS/IT/Networking or equivalent.
• Wireless RF, enterprise switching and routing in large offices.
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, VPN, zero-trust incl Cloudflare WARP.
• High-availability design for critical network services.
• Telemetry, alerts, analytics to improve reliability.
• Automation with scripting language and IaC (Git, CI/CD).
• Security: 802.1X, NAC, RBAC, segmentation, IDS/IPS.
• Coordinate carriers, contractors, vendors; clear ownership.
• Strong judgment, communication, and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate high-performance wired and wireless networks across offices and campuses.
• Own network delivery for offices: procurement, turn-up, cutover, and handoff; scale to cloud and Devin environments.
• Create reference architectures, runbooks, and deployment playbooks for a global footprint.
• Own monitoring and observability; develop tooling and data pipelines to turn network data into insights.
• Automate config with IaC and CI/CD; use APIs for deployment.
