Job summary

SMX is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team supporting the Defense Health Agency across the Pacific. This leadership role focuses on architecting, deploying, and securing complex LAN/WLAN/WAN environments that enable DoD healthcare operations.

You will guide cross‑functional teams, mentor staff, and drive cybersecurity initiatives, including Zero Trust, while ensuring systems remain compliant and highly available for mission critical care.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering; equivalent experience accepted.
Active DoD Secret clearance required (or higher).
IAM Level III (DoD 8570.01), CCNP, and CISSP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage robust network solutions across the Pacific for DHA.
Lead and mentor technical teams; collaborate with DHA leadership and partners.
Oversee installation, configuration, and performance of diverse network environments.
Lead cybersecurity initiatives and enforce DoD standards, including Zero Trust.
Resolve complex network challenges across OSI layers with advanced tools.
