Nscale in Seattle is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to own the design, automation, and operation of our AI‑optimised network fabrics. You will lead end‑to‑end initiatives for InfiniBand and Ethernet networks, driving performance and reliability at scale.

You’ll apply expertise in DC routing, fabric orchestration, and security architectures, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with deployment, DC operations, and platform teams to advance our next‑generation cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network engineering experience in HPC/AI or hyperscale data centres.
• Expertise with RDMA‑aware networking (InfiniBand, RoCE) for AI/HPC workloads including subnet managers (OpenSM, UFM).
• Proficient in DC routing/control planes (BGP, EVPN‑VxLAN, Clos/spine‑leaf) and network automation.
• Strong automation skills: Python, Ansible, Git workflows; IaC tooling (Terraform, GitLab CI/GitHub Actions).
• Experience designing firewall architectures (Juniper SRX, Palo Alto) and multi‑tenant segmentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, validate, and operate large‑scale InfiniBand/RoCE and Ethernet fabrics across racks, rows, and data centers.
• Contribute to reference architectures and standards; integrate with bare‑metal provisioning and cluster management.
• Build network automation in a GitOps model using Python/Ansible; maintain versioned configurations and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead incident response, perform root‑cause analysis, and reduce toil with runbooks and automation.
• Improve observability: telemetry, monitoring, and alerting for fabric health and traffic patterns.
• Maintain accurate network inventory and configuration data; enforce structured change management.
• Collaborate across deployment, DC ops, platform engineering, and vendors; mentor engineers.
