Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Network Development Engineer to join its Network Fabric Engineering team. You will build, deploy, and scale the Amazon networks that support AWS, customers, and other business units across global datacenters.

The role emphasizes 4+ years in internet routing and Linux environments, plus automation scripting. You will work with automation and network engineers to create scalable, reliable networking solutions in a fast-paced cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment.
• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement changes on the network.
• Work closely with automation teams to scale at higher volumes.
• Lead network projects in sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, refresh, best practices, and optimization.
• Sustain AWS networks for large customers by diagnosing, mitigating impact, and resolving large-scale events.
• Operate and troubleshoot routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations; including Unix interactions and networking tools.
• Drive and support innovation from Top of Rack to Network Border.
• Partner with Network/Infrastructure teams on standards and tools.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams to roll out new designs and products.
• Maintain standards across networking toolsets and ensure policy compliance.
• Deliver simple, sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes.
• Collaborate with escalation engineers/resolvers and document deployments and SOPs.
