Job summary

Assurit is seeking an experienced Senior Network Defense Analyst to support a client with advanced cyber operations and AI/ML-driven defense capabilities.

The role is based in Linthicum, MD, offering a hybrid work arrangement. It requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance, extensive network defense expertise, and a proven track record in incident response, threat analysis, and AI/ML applications for cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
• Master’s degree; 10+ years cybersecurity experience preferred.
• 8+ years in cybersecurity with focus on network defense and threat analysis.
• Strong analytical skills to process large datasets and detect patterns.
• Deep understanding of cloud security architecture and threat detection.
• Experience in incident response, forensics, malware analysis, and cyber threat intelligence.
• Knowledge of network/app protocols, vulnerabilities, and exploitation techniques.
• Ability to interpret diverse network data (Netflow/PCAP/logs) for investigations.
• Experience applying AI/ML to cybersecurity challenges.
• Experience briefing senior government leadership.

Responsibilities

• Proactively safeguard networks by analyzing data, prioritizing threats, and recommending mitigations.
• Lead cyber intelligence and all-source research focused on network operations.
• Analyze appliance data and security events using AI/ML for anomaly detection.
• Develop presentations and recommendations summarizing threat assessments.
• Leverage classified data, open-source research, and netflow analysis for threat profiles.
• Craft data-driven reports and briefings for leaders with AI/ML insights.
