Job summary

ActioNet is seeking a highly skilled Network and Communications Field Technician (Field Technician III) to lead structured cabling and wireless networking projects in DoD environments. This senior role requires 4+ years of hands-on experience, project leadership, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years field experience in structured cabling and wireless network installation.
• Certifications: BICSI Technician, CompTIA Network+, or CCNA.
• Ability to manage site execution and field logistics.
• Experience with CAT5e/CAT6, Wi‑Fi deployments, and secure environments.
• Eligibility to work on DoD and secure government sites.
• Able to obtain and maintain U.S. government security clearance.
• Strong LAN/WAN, IP configuration, PoE knowledge.
• Proficient with wireless site survey tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and validation of cabling and wireless networks.
• Act as technical lead during field deployments and go-live milestones.
• Provide guidance on network hardware installation and configuration.
• Lead wireless site surveys and placement strategies.
• Mentor Field Technicians II and III.
• Serve as main field contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Review built documentation and compliance records.
• Enforce on-site safety practices and PPE usage.
