ActioNet is seeking a skilled Network and Communications Field Technician III to lead structured cabling and wireless network installations across DoD and commercial environments in Southern California. This senior role requires hands-on leadership of field teams, engagement with clients, and adherence to DoD standards.

Travel up to 20% is expected; security clearance sponsorship is available. The position emphasizes site readiness, documentation, safety, and quality assurance to deliver

Qualifications

• 4+ years of field experience in structured cabling and wireless network installation.
• Ability to lead field projects and supervise junior technicians.
• Experience with DoD environments and government site requirements.
• Proficiency with network hardware configuration and QA.
• DoD eligibility and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Knowledge of CAT5e/CAT6, Wi-Fi deployments, and PoE.
• Familiarity with field surveys, site readiness, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation and validation of structured cabling and wireless network systems.
• Oversee field crews, ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
• Act as technical lead during deployments, manage site readiness and go-live milestones.
• Provide guidance on hardware installation and configuration; perform QA checks.
• Lead wireless site surveys and assist with access point placement strategies.
• Mentor Field Technicians I and II and coordinate task assignments.
• Serve as main field point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Review as-built documentation, test reports, and security records; ensure QA.
