Job summary

Meriplex Communications in Houston, TX seeks a senior Network Architect to lead low-level designs and implementation for Telco and SD-WAN deployments. You will own designs from kickoff to activation, review customer environments, and mentor engineers while coordinating with PMO and provisioning teams.

The role requires 7+ years in network engineering/architecture, SD-WAN expertise, and strong routing knowledge (BGP/OSPF), plus excellent documentation and customer communication.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of network engineering or network architecture experience.
• SDWAN design, deployment, and troubleshooting experience.
• Expert-level routing protocols knowledge (BGP, OSPF) and complex designs with failover.
• Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar networks and produce implementable designs.
• Familiarity with carrier/telco services (DIA, broadband, LTE, voice).
• Strong documentation skills and network diagrams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for customer-facing work.
• Experience mentoring or leading network engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own low-level design (LLD) and implementation plan for Telco and SDWAN projects from design to activation.
• Review existing customer networks and map Meriplex products into them.
• Serve as technical lead on projects, collaborating with PMO and Provisioning.
• Act as escalation point for complex delivery issues (Support/NOC).
• Assist pre-sales with validation and design input for quotes and proposals.
• Own product engineering and develop reusable implementation standards.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and knowledge transfer.
• Produce designs and implementation plans detailing IP addressing, routing, failover, and cutover.
