Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for the AWS EC2 Hyperplane team to design and build a scalable network virtualization platform. You will work on low-latency, high-throughput systems that power NAT Gateway, Elastic File System, load balancers, and service endpoints at massive scale.

The role requires 8+ years of experience in software development, strong leadership in architecture, and the ability to mentor others.

Qualifications

8+ years non-internship professional software development experience.
Experience leading design or architecture of complex systems.
Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable distributed systems powering AWS EC2 network virtualization.
Lead technical design decisions for Hyperplane components such as packet processing and traffic management.
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-facing features.
Optimize performance to meet latency and throughput requirements.
Participate in on-call rotations and drive operational excellence.
