Job summary

SMS DATA PRODUCTS GROUP, INC is seeking a Network Architect to lead development of modernized base area networks for NIPR and SIPR, with hybrid work in the DC Metro area (McLean, VA) and remote collaboration. Expect strong leadership in design, adherence to Air Force standards, and cross-location coordination.

The role requires 8+ years in network design, active CCNP and Security+ CE certifications, DoD clearance, and willingness to travel about 25%. CCIE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in network engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of network architecture experience.
• Active CCNP certification.
• Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
• DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance.
• Willingness to travel approx. 25%.
• CCIE or equivalent expert-level certification highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of modernized Base Area Network architectures for NIPR and SIPR networks.
• Provide authoritative technical leadership for network design team.
• Develop enterprise-level network architectures addressing wired, wireless, fiber, and security.
• Design network topologies for performance, redundancy, and scalability.
• Create DoDAF diagrams and ensure DoD standards compliance.
• Coordinate with government authorities for design approvals and non-proprietary documentation.
