Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and support of LAN/WAN architectures for mission-critical government projects. The role emphasizes expert-level networking, VMware administration, and cross-functional leadership.

You will evaluate current systems, plan large-scale upgrades, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring security and compliance. A TS/SCI clearance with willingness for CI polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years related experience in network engineering or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field; or Associate's + 2 years experience, or equivalent.
• IAT Level II certification within 6 months of hire.
• Security clearance: TS/SCI; willing to obtain CI polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
• Manage purchase, installation, and support of network communications.
• Plan large-scale systems projects via vendor comparison and cost studies.
• Provide leadership and training to lower level network engineers.
• Troubleshoot VMware environments and related components (vCenter, ESXi).
• Support hybrid cloud integration with multiple public cloud providers.
• Document designs, test plans, and transition solutions to operations.
