Job summary

Trace Systems Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to provide Tier III engineering, architecture, integration, testing, and sustainment support for EACN at Scott AFB, Illinois. The role supports operational A2G2 sites and the SIL while guiding baseline configuration and future-state solutions.

The position requires a TS clearance, DoD 8140 qualifications, and 5+ years of DoD network experience. A CCNP and strong networking skills are essential, with the project in the proposal stage.

Qualifications

• Active, in-scope US Government Top Secret clearance.
• US Citizenship required.
• DoD 8140 qualifications for Network Operations Specialist (Advanced).
• Masters or PhD in CS/Cybersecurity/DS/IS/IT/Software Eng or related military training.
• DoD 8140 certifications or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication and ability to coordinate with tech and non-tech staff.
• Ability to work in a secure DoD environment and comply with security requirements.
• 5+ years of network engineering in complex DoD LAN/WAN environments.
• CCNP certification or equivalent within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier III engineering, architecture, integration, testing, and sustainment support for EACN at Scott AFB.
• Support network analysis, design, and technology evaluation for EACN.
• Troubleshoot network issues affecting operational A2G2 sites and EACN environment.
• Establish and maintain A2G2 baseline configurations and SIL testing.
• Document, install, and test hardware, software, and changes before deploy.
• Develop installation/configuration guides, disaster-recovery plans, and procedures.
• Review and configure routers, switches, Firewalls, CIDR/VLSM, DNS, encryption, and NAS/SNMP tools.
• Create scripts and graphs; provide trend analysis on availability and health.
• Design technical solutions for integrating new transport capabilities into EACN.
