Job summary

Axon is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our Global Operations team in a hybrid role, based in New York. You will design, deploy, and support networks powering our public safety products, including IaC for scalable infrastructures.

Key requirements include 5+ years in network engineering, strong AWS networking, and experience with Cisco/Fortinet equipment. This role offers a hybrid schedule with 4 days in the NY office and opportunities to mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS networking (VPCs, Direct Connect, Route 53).
• Solid foundation in TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VPNs, DNS; experience with Cisco and Fortinet equipment and SD-WAN is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead network projects: establishment, upgrades, expansions, migrations.
• Configure and maintain networking infrastructure, including Fortinet firewalls and Cisco switches/routers; implement security best practices.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot to ensure uptime in a mission-critical live system.
• Design and deploy networks with Infrastructure as Code to scale infrastructure.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve network-related challenges and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Mentor junior network engineers and provide technical guidance.
