Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Network Architect to lead the design and development of software supporting Akamai's global connectivity platform.

You will drive software-defined automation to reduce operational toil and improve reliability across distributed networks and edge security. In this role you will establish telemetry and observability stacks for real-time monitoring, mentor engineering teams, and champion CI/CD and SDLC best practices to scale the platform

Qualifications

• 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrate 10+ years of experience in network and software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Ansible, Kubernetes and Source of Truth platforms.
• Thrive in a fast-changing environment with evolving requirements and agility.
• Expertise in large-scale IP routing and network fabric architectures.
• Experience designing cloud-native infrastructure, container orchestration, and infra-as-code deployment frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and development software for Akamai's global connectivity platform.
• Drive software-defined automation to reduce toil and improve reliability.
• Establish telemetry systems and observability stacks for real-time monitoring of global traffic and security services.
• Champion software engineering best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and SDLC standards.
• Steer capacity planning and cost optimization across distributed routing, fabric, and edge security systems.
