Job summary

UMass Chan Medical School is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support local and wide area networks across multi-platform environments. You will lead third-level support, plan and maintain LAN/WAN, review products, monitor performance, and drive complex networking initiatives.

Qualified candidates bring 7+ years of experience, a CS/IS degree or equivalent, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Management Systems, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of related work experience including project management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide third level support to end users.
• Plan, procure, install and maintain LAN/WAN in a multi protocol environment.
• Review products and recommend hardware, software or contract changes.
• Monitor network functions and evaluate operations and network performance.
• Lead projects and act as principal customer contact.
• Develop resolutions to complex problems with defined policy guidance.
• Contribute to organizational goals and objectives.
