Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to support the VA network infrastructure, VistA, VAEC (AWS) and VA WAN. The role will plan, administer, maintain, monitor, and secure enterprise networks for VistA and cloud-hosted VA systems.

The candidate must reside within the continental US and will work within a SAFe/Agile framework, coordinating with multiple teams to ensure high availability and compliance with federal IT standards. A Public Trust clearance is required or can be pursued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or another engineering or technical discipline; eight years of additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• Five+ years of experience.
• Experience managing, monitoring, and configuring operations of computer systems across networks for government IT systems.
• Experience with AWS cloud networking and connectivity to cloud resources.
• Experience working with multiple teams of administrators across enterprise and local networks.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the VistA network infrastructure and VAEC AWS environment.
• Provide ongoing network operational support and maintenance of VA cloud and WAN.
• Review and implement requests for additional connectivity to cloud resources.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and document network issues with cross-functional teams.
• Develop plans for network and systems management and maintenance.
• Create and maintain detailed network diagrams and documentation.
• Monitor performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure network security compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and execute tasks in a SAFe/Agile environment and participate in ceremonies.
• Respond to incidents, lead troubleshooting, and document root causes.
