Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. The role involves regional and national projects with extensive travel, and compensation up to $110/hour based on certification and experience.

In addition to base pay, the position offers OT, a signing bonus, company vehicle, per diem, and full benefits including 401(k) with profit sharing, medical/dental/vision

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV Certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
